Hello and welcome back to another episode of the Embrace Your Real podcast, three things that you need to do to see results. Are you frustrated by not seeing the results that you want? I've worked with thousands of women on building the body that they want, and the three things I'm going to share with you in today's episode are the three most common mistakes that I see ladies who are not getting results making. If you adjust these three things, I can guarantee that your results will improve. But before I dive in, I had to share this super sweet review.
It comes from Kay Reed. She says, "Mind over matter. Literally. I just started listening to your podcast and I've shared with, at least six other of my girlfriends and my mom. My mom sent me your profile a while ago, ironically because she said you look like you have the same body type as mine. However, you are five nine and I'm five three. She meant well. Laughing emoji. Anyway, I have been so hooked on your podcast morning and night, literally whenever I can listen, even right this second. I have tried working out consistently for over 11 years, always over-complicating it. Come to find out, it's my mind that needed consistency over my body. You have taught me that and your podcast has been helping me consistently on track with a healthy mind leading to a healthy body and lifestyle. Thank you so much for your time, and I'm so happy and thankful that you went through with launching it. Girl, thank you. Keep shining your light bright. Also, do you have a blooper bonus episode? If not, I would love to hear one. Thank you. Thank you."
I love that so much. We don't have a blooper bonus episode, but that's actually a really good idea because embrace your real. How much more real can it get by you just listening to bloopers? I can tell you a lot of bloopers are me waiting for the dogs to stop barking because in case you didn't know, I recorded this podcast in the closet. It is the Embrace Your Real podcast I recorded in my closet. I will tell you I recorded in the closet for a few reasons. The first reason is I just like it. I feel like this is my thinking closet. I feel like whenever I close the door, it's this secluded place where I can just focus. But the second reason to be honest is that the acoustics are just amazing because clothes are literally soaking up the audio, so there's no echo. If you ever are starting a podcast or if you ever hear really dope audio, either they have an entire setup that is specifically for really good audio, or they might be recording it in a closet and you don't even know.
But all that to say, thank you so much for the review. I appreciate you guys so much. If you haven't already rated and reviewed the podcast, all you got to do is scooch over to Apple Podcasts, first, make sure you subscribe to the podcast. That way you never miss an episode and second, click that rate and review. It takes less than 30 seconds, but it helps the growth of the podcast so much. So let's dive into the three things that you need to do to see better results and results, period.
Number one, you've got to change your actions. If you continue to repeat the same things over and over again and still don't see results, it's time to question what you're doing and if it's the right thing for you to be doing right now in this season of your life. For example, if every time you go to lose weight, you do a bunch of cardio and you eat as little as possible but then you gain back all the weight shortly after, maybe you should question whether or not that method actually works. Is there a different method that you should try instead that might keep the weight off instead of having to re-lose the same way over and over again? Instead of working out more and eating less without any real plan behind it, you could get a workout program that has been properly programmed and you could start nourishing your body with what it needs by counting your macros or just having the tool of macro counting to know how much your body needs so that it can be filled properly.
The point being, if you want to see change, you need to change what you're doing if it's not working. Repeating old unhealthy habits won't bring you new results. Let me repeat that again. Repeating old unhealthy habits will not bring you new results. I need you to take a moment to evaluate your habits, which ones are making you feel good and which ones need to be replaced? I need you to be honest with yourself and hold yourself accountable for actually changing them. If you need help determining which habits need changing, be sure to check out episode 56, seven common workout mistakes you're probably making or episode 52, nine nutrition mistakes you need to avoid. I will be sure to link those in the show notes. You can easily go tune in after this episode, but those episodes are there for you.
Number two, be consistent. Once you change your actions, you need to be consistent with those actions. I think many of us think that following through on our habits for one week straight is enough to see results, or we think that if we stick to our habits three days out of the week, we should still be able to see results. But the truth is that these habits need to become a lifestyle. They need to become things that you do every single day. The more they become a part of your everyday life, the better and better results you're going to see. But remember this, you just need to do the best that you can, you don't need to do it perfectly every single day. Like I always say, consistent imperfect action is so much more effective than perfect inconsistent action. Again, consistent imperfect action is so much more effective than perfect inconsistent action. Let that sink in.
Number three, be patient. When we start honoring our body with movement and nourishing our body with what it needs, we often expect to see results ASAP. And when we don't, we think we're doing something wrong so we start changing all of the variables. So we stop and we try something else. And then we're impatient with that and either we stop doing that and starting something else, and the cycle just continues over and over again. Sister, we need to give it time. If you're taking a healthy approach to weight loss and building the body and confidence that you want, after one month, yes, you might begin to see some small changes, but it can take three months, six months, nine months before your body composition really begins to alter.
But here's the thing. If you're doing it the right way, the results you are waiting patiently for will last long-term. They aren't results that you're going to wait three months to see and then be gone again in three months. No, they're going to last. They're sustainable. So be patient. It is so worth the patience that you have. Here's my advice. Don't focus on the results. Focus on your actions. Focus on the habit changes and simply trust the process. Make sure that you are taking your progress photos and you are writing in a journal how you're feeling and the thoughts and feelings that you're having, and over time you will start to see massive changes. Remember when you see yourself every single day, it's very hard to pick up on the changes that are happening. You have to take yourself out and almost look at it from a bird's eye perspective. Keep doing what you need to be doing. Honor your body and nourish your body and have full faith that your body and mind will become what it's meant to be.
So if you truly want to see results, you need to number one, change your habits if the current habits are not working. Number two, remain consistent. Number three, be patient. Again, be sure to check out episode 56, seven common workout mistakes you're probably making and episode 52, nine nutrition mistakes you need to avoid if you need help figuring out which habits need changing.
