I recently found myself in a pattern of being extremely inactive. I would work all day at the computer and sit around in the evenings. I was tired of doing the gym-thing with the same-old routine and I kept finding excuses to not go!

I looked for something that answered all those questions, and you know what? I couldn't find anything. So instead, I created a workout app that solves all my problems and now I’m sharing it with you!

1. No more doing cardio for hours.
If you’re looking to get defined muscles, or if you want to completely transform your body, doing endless cardio isn’t the answer. I repeat: doing endless cardio is not going to help you. The magic happens when you’re at rest. You can work as hard as you want in the gym, but without rest, you will never see the results you want.
This is why I made it a priority with my Movement With Julie app to always incorporate two rest days a week into my programming. Which means you never have to work out more than five days a week. For some of you, I know that is music to your ears!
Can’t commit to five days a week? No problem! With my app, you have access to every workout for the week. This means, if you can commit to two or three days of workouts, you can go into the app and select the ones you want to try out that week.
With that being said, if your life doesn’t allow you to commit to five days a week, I would recommend doing at least one upper body and one lower body workout each week. For the rest, pick a workout based on your goals (you can chose from core & cardio, full body, and booty blaster).

5. Track your progress without stepping on the scale.
When working out regularly, of course you want to see how far you’ve come. And I’m guessing you go straight to the scale to tell you. But sometimes the number on the scale will be going up instead of down and you can get completely discouraged.
Every time you step on the scale, remember: muscle weighs more than fat. So, when you’re lifting weights and building muscle, it’s normal for the number to increase. Don’t let that scare you! Muscle may weight more than fat, but it’s also much more compact than fat. Which means, the more muscle you gain, the more compact, or leaner, you will become.
With that being said, I hate tracking my progress through the scale alone. Sure, I’ll step on it every once in awhile, but I don’t depend on it to accurately measure my progress.
