[00:00:00] Hey, hey, beautiful human. Can I steal five minutes of your time? I have something super important to share with you, but I promise I'll be really quick. You're listening to my weekly bonus episode of Embrace Your Real with me, Julie Ledbetter. I'm about to give you a quick tip for building your confidence, honoring your body, and unconditionally loving your authentic self. Stay tuned. If you're ready to embrace a real let's get it. Let's go. [00:00:22][22.7]

[00:00:30] Hello and welcome back to another bonus episode. Is it too late for me to change? This was a question that was asked recently inside my Facebook group, and it completely broke my heart. Because how many women out there believe that it is too late to change? I know there have been times in my journey that I thought, you know, is it too late for me? Is it too late? Do I still stand a chance? You know, and I think that it stops you before you even start something. Because you have this limiting belief that is holding you back. And if that's you, if you're someone who doesn't believe that it's possible for you to change your body, change your mindset, change your habits, change your lifestyle, your life path, or whatever it is that you wish to change this year. This episode is for you. But before we dive in, I wanted to share. This review comes from Bella Blue. She gave a five star review and said, thank you for having the courage. I think about food all the time and if other people are noticing if I look skinnier or that I need to be skinnier in order to be loved or liked. And there has not been one other podcast I have listened to that I can relate more on. I am so grateful that you had the courage to start this podcast. I love this so much and this is honestly one of the biggest whys as to why I started this podcast. Because this was me for a decade plus my life, I felt like I was alone. I felt like nobody else in the in the world, like, struggled with what I struggled with with, you know, over exercising, under eating and constantly fixating on being skinnier and, you know, a smaller size. And it was debilitating. I mean, it consumed every part of my life. And I wish that I had the resource that this podcast is. And so that's why I created it. I believe that God allows us to go through things in our life, and he uses it for his good. And so the fact that I am standing here a decade plus later, being able to speak to thousands of women, millions of women over the course of a year is incredible. And so just honestly beyond my wildest dreams. But thank you so much. I honestly say that, you know, the courage that's within me was just it's a it was a calling from God. Like that's genuinely what it was. And having a, you know, a girl, Chelsea, who reached out to me way back in the day and she believed in me and she said, hey, do you want to start a podcast? I think you'd be great at it. And, you know, I always had the dream, but I didn't know what that would look like. And so the fact that here we are, over 400 episodes later, three plus years, it is just been so cool. So thank you so much for tuning into the podcast and even more, thank you for leaving a rating interview. They genuinely mean so, so much and I'm just grateful for this community and I feel so blessed to have this platform. So thank you, thank you, thank you. [00:03:06][156.7]

[00:03:07] I am going to spend the next few minutes preaching to you, because I think one of the biggest misconceptions about losing weight or changing your body is that it requires this drastic overnight change, and this is what leads people to think that it's impossible, right? They think that it should happen faster than it does, and they allow that to make them believe that it's impossible for them to be able to make a change, when in reality, lasting progress often comes from consistent small steps taken over time. Right? [00:03:35][28.4]

[00:03:35] This might look like a year, two years, three years of gradual change to get to where you want to be. But you'll get there, no doubt about it. How do I know this? Because this is a fact that you are capable of changing your body, no matter where your starting point is, and no matter what stage of life you're in, no matter how many years you've been trying. Our bodies are designed to adapt to new challenges and new circumstances, and so whether that's gaining muscle, losing weight, improving overall health, your body has this innate ability to respond positively to changes in your diet, your exercise, your lifestyle. And this adaptability doesn't expire with age or expire with how long you've been trying. It continues throughout your entire life, which is so encouraging because building the body that you want is science. [00:04:24][48.3]

[00:04:24] No matter what your age is your past choices, what you're going through right now. That doesn't matter if you can stick to the habits needed to build the body that you want, you are fully capable of change. It's really that simple. It's a science that applies to every single body on this planet. So let me reiterate. Reiterate that your body can do anything. Your body is more than capable. It's adaptable and more than you can ever imagine. Honestly, you just need to convince your mind and you need to believe this. [00:04:54][29.5]

[00:04:54] So no matter where you are in life, I need you to know that it is not too late. I need you to know that it is never too late to change your life. It is never too late to change your body. And I can't say that enough. It is never too late. Never ever, ever, ever, ever. I never want you to think that that is what is holding you back. Is that. Oh, man. Well, it's too late. I'm past my prime. Whatever limiting belief it is that you have, the only thing stopping you from change is your mind believing that you can. So I need you to wake up each and every morning and believe in yourself. [00:05:27][32.9]

[00:05:28] Believe in your body. Believe in your capabilities, and truly believe that you can and you will change in 2024. Your age will not stop you from building the body that you want. Age isn't part of the equation. Your past choices will not stop you from building the body that you want. Your past choices. They're not a part of your equation, of the equation, or whatever it is that you're going through right now that is making you believe that you are not capable of change. That is not a part of the equation. But I'll tell you what is a part of the equation. Believing in yourself. Your ability to do anything that you put your mind to. I need you to trust in your innate body's ability to be able to change, because often times our body is ready to change, but our mind is what's holding us back. And we don't think that. We think, oh, it's our body. Oh, it's our age. I hear this all the time. [00:06:19][51.4]

[00:06:20] Oh, you know, I'm 50 plus. And I'm like, there are, there are women in our community that are 65, 70 plus that are crushing it, that feel better than they have in 30 or 40 years. Age is not a part of the equation, I'm telling you. Sure, there are some things, but the more you learn about how to properly fuel your body, how to get into these routines, and these habits that allow you to feel better, the more confidence you'll gain, and then you'll start to build this momentum that allows you to continue to follow through. And you'll see, you know, six months, a year, two years later, okay. You know, I was lying to myself for ten years. I thought it was my age, but it was actually my mind that was holding me back. Right. [00:07:01][40.8]

[00:07:01] And I talk about this. I've just talked about this on a recent episode. So if you want to learn kind of exactly about what the habits are so that you can go into this this new year 2024, feeling your best and recognizing, okay, you know, age is not a part of the equation. My past choices are not a part of the equation, but it's believing in myself. Then check out episode 405, The Most Simple Plan for Building the Body That You Want in 2024. I will link that in the show notes. [00:07:27][25.9]

[00:07:27] I think that will be very beneficial for you, but believe that you can do it and then just go do it, that's all. You don't need a second guess. You don't need to question whether or not you're capable. You just need to wake up each and every morning and just do it. If nothing else, I want you to prove to yourself that you can do it in 2024. If you're uncertain again about where to start or how to start taking the steps, you know with the right, proper, sustainable approach, check out episode 405 The Simple Plan for Building the Body that You Want in 2024. But you can also get serious right now. I have programs right now for you. I have two specific programs that I want to talk about. The first one is my what would you like community? When you get the app, I recommend that you start with 2 to 3 workouts a week, whether this is the 30 minute variation or the 60 minute variation. If you're just starting out, start with a 30 minute, and the 30 minute workouts are one giant circuit three times. If you can only do the giant circuit one time, that's great. That's better than nothing, right? And then slowly build from there. I just want you to start to commit yourself to at least 2 to 3 days a week in terms of strength training. [00:08:32][64.7]

[00:08:32] So if that's if that's just if you're just starting out and you're like, yep, that's me, I want to do 2 or 3 days a week, two days a week. I would do lower body and upper body three days a week, I would do lower body, upper body and full body. And just give yourself days, a day or two rest in between those before doing the other workout. So lower body rest, upper body rest, full body. And that's your week three days a week. The second program that I want to talk about is my Macro Counting Made Simple Online Academy. I want you to commit to learning how to properly feel your body. Commit to it. Commit to okay, I want to learn how much protein, how many carbs, how many fats my body needs based on where I'm at and what my goals are. Doesn't matter what your age is. The cool thing about macros is it's not a one size fits all. We take your age, your weight, your height, your activity level, where you're currently at, what your goals are, and we customize it to you. We don't say you need to eat x, y, and Z. We say, hey, this is the range that you should be looking for on a daily basis in terms of protein, carbs, and fats. You pick what foods you love best, you pick what meals make you feel your best, and you're able to educate and finally learn how to properly fuel your body instead of just relying on meal plans. So you can learn all about that by going to macro counting made simple.com. Again, that's macro counting made simple.com. And I'm telling you, once you get into the flow of it you're going to figure it out. It's going to become second nature to you. And I can tell you speaking from experience, not just in my own life, but also working with thousands of women over the last decade. [00:10:03][90.1]

[00:10:03] When people feel empowered and educated around food, they feel more confident. They feel like they can conquer anything because you that's that's something you can't take away from somebody. You can't take away education from somebody. You can't take away empowerment around something. And so that is something that is priceless, in my opinion, to feel empowered and educated. Around food is what you know, 95 to 97% of society doesn't have. And that's why they feel so stuck. And that's why they're trying all these fad diets, because they're just not educated about food. So you can go to macro counting made simple.com. Learn all about that program there. Or if you're needing workouts and you really want to join a community, these are dumbbell only workouts. All you need is a few pair of dumbbells, a small space, your phone if you have a bench, amazing. If not, I always give no bench alternates. You can go to sale. That's S-A-L-E Dot movement with julie.com to access my workout app and head over there. I will link both of those in the show notes as well as episode 405. The most simple plan for building the body that you want. But I'm telling you, it is not too late for you to change. It is not too late for you to change. It is not too late for you to change. The only thing that you need to change is your mindset that you can and you will. You can do whatever you put your mind to in 2024, and you will follow through. If you can get that in your mind and you can practice that on a daily basis, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish in the next 12 months. I believe in you. We have a whole community cheering you on. I hope that this was helpful for you, but that is all that I have for today's bonus episode. I love you so dang much. I mean it, I'll talk to in the next one. [00:11:49][105.5]

[00:11:58] All right, sister, that's all I got for you today. But I have two things that I need you to do. First thing, if you are not already following me on the gram, be sure to do so. Julie, a lot better. Yes, it's within a in the middle for that daily post workout real talk, healthy tips and tricks, and honest accountability to keep your mind and heart in check. The second thing, be sure to subscribe to Apple Podcasts to never miss an episode. Thank you so much for joining me. It means the absolute world, and I'm going to leave you with one last thought.
