Hello, and welcome back to another bonus episode of the Embrace Your Real podcast. Today, I have some real talk for those who are living in weight loss mode. So many of us have been living in weight loss mode for years. We can't even remember when or why we started to try to lose weight, and yet today, here we are, still trying to lose more weight. So for those of you who can relate to that, I have some real talk that I need to share with you today.

But before I do, I have to share this super sweet review. It comes from AmberDenise007. She says, "Forever grateful. I've had such a struggle with my body and mindset. I tried to lose and gain weight to get my ex to love me. It messed me up so much and caused so much damage to me long-term. These podcasts help me so much. They're like my lifeline at times. They've helped me accept myself and my body, develop a new mindset, and realize that I truly am worth it. I am much more accepting of myself and learned how to give myself a little bit more grace while still working hard to reach my goals. Thank you, Julie, for all you do, and for the role that you have in helping me get to this place of peace and happiness."

Amber, first of all, I just want to say you're my girl. Thank you so, so much for this review and thank you for just sharing your heart and sharing where you're at. I am so grateful to be alongside of you on this journey, and I truly am alongside of every single one of you guys listening. I look at you as sisters, I look at you as family, and I believe that we are stronger and we are better together. So thank you for tuning in. Thank you for leaving reviews. It truly does mean the world to me. We read your reviews every single time, and we appreciate you. And also, it does help the podcast grow in so many different ways, just reach this message of embrace your real to more and more women every day. So thank you, and if you haven't already rated and reviewed it, you can scooch over to Apple Podcasts and do that there.

Somewhere, somehow we've lost track of why we are here. We allow weight loss to be the number one priority in our life. We allow it to dictate the decisions that we make, the experiences that we do or don't have, and the happiness that we feel, the confidence we have, and the list just goes on and on. We allow our need to lose weight become our number one priority above all else, and we oftentimes don't have the energy or the bandwidth for the things that should actually be our priorities. News flash, you are not on this earth for the sole purpose of losing weight. You are not here to work out more and eat less and allow your weight to control your life. Your life should not revolve around losing weight.

Of course, I am a huge advocate for honoring your body with movement and nourishing your body with what it needs, because we are called to be a steward of our body, but something so good, like health, can easily become a trap. Today, remember that you have purpose and that purpose goes far beyond aesthetics. The world needs you. The world needs your heart, your passion, your gifts, your talents. It's not all about numbers and inches. Your weight does not define you. Your body shape does not define you. Your pants size does not define you. So stop making any of it your sole purpose in life. Your sole purpose should be you showing up as your best self and living a life full of passion that includes so much more than being leaner or skinnier. I've said this before, and I'll say it again, but at the end of your life, you're not going to wish you weighed less in your twenties, thirties, or forties. You're going to wish that you lived more presently and to the fullest.

So today, I challenge you to start shifting your mindset. The next time you decide to do something or not do something simply because you're trying to lose weight, I need you to rethink your decision. Is it worth it? Or would you choose something otherwise, if you weren't, quote, trying to lose weight? Our lives are meant to be lived, and it's time for us to actually start living it.

If you love this episode, I know you will love episode 122, some real talk on how much you weigh. We've become so obsessed over how much we weigh. We could be feeling so awesome about ourselves until we step on the scale and see that we've gained five pounds. This instantly changes our mindset on how we view ourselves and our body, and it needs to stop. That's why in episode 122, I chat with you about that silly little number, and also in episode 108, the number one thing that transformed my mindset to help me cultivate more self-love, when we lack self-love it's way too easy for us to be trapped in this negative mindset and negative thought patterns that are simply a disservice to our life because they hold us back in so many different areas.

In episode 108, I give you some real talk. I lived most of my life not loving myself. I absolutely had no idea what it would even feel like to love myself. The concept of that was just so foreign to me. And so in that episode, I give you the single most influential thing that transformed my mindset when it comes to cultivating more self-love. So I will go ahead and link episodes 122 and episodes 108 in the show notes so you can easily go tune in.

Thank you so much for tuning into this bonus episode. If you have a girlfriend, a sister, a friend, a coworker that you feel like would just benefit from this spitfire real talk on living in weight loss mode, I just ask that you share it with them. You can screenshot this, post it up on your story, tag me, tag embrace real account. I love connecting with you guys. You guys are my family, you guys are my people, and I appreciate you sharing this out more than you know. Thank you so much for tuning in, and I'll talk to you guys in the next episode.

All right, sister, that's all I've got for you today, but I have two things that I need you to do. First thing, if you are not already following me on the gram, be sure to do so, @JulieALedbetter, yes, it's with an A in the middle, for that daily post-workout real talk, healthy tips and tricks, and honest accountability to keep your mind and heart in check. The second thing, be sure to subscribe to Apple Podcasts to never miss an episode. Thank you so much for joining me. It means the absolute world, and I'm going to leave you with one last thought. The most beautiful women that I have met in my life are the ones who are completely confident and secure in being authentically themselves. Remember that beauty goes so much deeper than the surface, so go out there and embrace your real, because you're worth it.
