[00:00:32] Hello and welcome back to another bonus episode. So maybe you are thinking about starting over on your fitness journey, but you're you're mad at yourself. You're frustrated because you feel like you just keep falling off track or you're just discouraged because you feel like you have to keep starting over. I've been there, trust me so many times throughout my journey over these last ten, ten plus years on my fitness journey. And I'm telling you that you don't have to be discouraged. I want to encourage you to overcome that discouragement. And so that's exactly what we're going to be talking about in today's episode. This is going to be part one of a two part series. And first of all, I want you to give yourself some credit for even being here, for wanting to get back on track. That is amazing. Maybe, you know, this past summer just didn't go the way that you expected. Some things happened, life happen, and now you're like, Hey, I want to get back into it in the fall and finish out the year strong. If that is you, I want you to give yourself credit for even being in that position. We all have times where life gets busy. Motivation dips. Life life changes. You have a different season of life. And so that's why in today's episode, I just want to give you this pep talk about why starting over is actually totally natural and it's a natural part of the process and really how to help you change your mindset from feeling disappointed in yourself to feeling good about starting over. So like I mentioned, this is going to be part one of a two part series. So stay tuned next week for part two. But before we dive in, I wanted to share this review comes from a list she gave a five star review and said, Love listening. I've been searching for a podcast like this to help me build my confidence and knowledge on working out. I finally found it and I love listening. I love this so much. Thank you so much for tuning in. I'm so grateful that the podcast is helping you and thank you so much for taking time to leave that reading interview. If you could scooch over to Apple Podcasts and leave a rating interview, that would mean the absolute world to me and our team. Just kind of know how this podcast is helping you, how episodes are helping you in general. Maybe there is a specific episode that really hit you. I would love to hear from you. And so if you could scooch over again to Apple Podcasts Liberating Interview. Also make sure you subscribe so that you never miss an episode. And if you are listening over on Spotify, you can actually go and just rate the podcast and that would help tremendously as well. So if you could scooch over to Spotify and rate the podcasts again, that would help so, so much. Okay, so let's dive into today's bonus episode number one, just to know that it is normal to start over. Let's get one thing straight, and it's absolutely normal for you to need a fresh start now and then. Like it's totally normal. Life happens. Motivation dips. We cannot expect ourselves to be go, go, go without ever slowing down and take a break. Life happens. Seasons change. Whether it's work, it's family, it's health, or just needing a mental reset. Right. All of those things are reasons why maybe your fitness routine routine might have gotten off track. This is not a fail here. This is you being human. There's nothing wrong with you if you find yourself in a place where you need to start again. Everyone does. At some point, what matters is recognizing that when you're ready to jump back in, you can give yourself permission to begin again. I want you to think about it like this. Starting over is not a sign of weakness. It's not a sign of failure. It's a sign of strength. Yes, it is a sign of strength. It shows that you're willing to keep trying. It shows that you're willing to keep showing up or to show up again and again no matter what. And so I want you to let go of any guilt, let go of any frustration that you're feeling, and know that every beginning is just another opportunity to grow stronger, both mentally and physically. Starting over is part of the journey, and the fact that you're even here means that you're in the right direction. Number two, I need you to know that setbacks are part of the process. Let's be real. Every single person, even Olympic athletes, so many Olympic athletes with with the Olympics just happening this past August. You know, you hear so many stories. July and August, you hear so many stories of people's, you know, road to the Olympics. And there have been so many setbacks. Right. The most dedicated fitness enthusiast. They have setbacks and they will. And that's a part of life. And it's so I think that it's easy for us to feel like, you know, we're the only one who's struggling. But trust me, you are not alone. There's nothing wrong with you. That is completely normal. Setbacks happen. Life is not about how many times you quit. It's about how many times you keep going. Every time you choose to start again, you're proving to yourself that you have the resilience to move forward. So instead of dwelling on past setbacks, focus on what you can do today. The past is done, but today is a fresh start. Think about one small step that you can take right now to get back on track. So whether that's a short walk, whether that's choosing a healthier meal or doing a quick workout, the important thing is that you keep moving. Even if it's just a little bit at a time And last finales. Number three, fitness journeys are not linear. This is so, so important to grasp, right? Fitness journeys are not a straight line from point A to point B, There's going to be ups, there's going to be downs, there's going to be good days and bad days. And so on. The days that you feel like you are a superstar and you're unstoppable, that's amazing. Really grasp those days and get a hold of those days and soak them up. But also know that there's going to be days where you just feel like you want to throw in the towel and that's okay. There's going to be those days and soak those up and say, You know what? Today is not my day. Is a day where I want to throw in the towel. But I know that every day is not going to be like this. And so I'm going to continue to move forward and hope that tomorrow is another a new day where I feel unstoppable again. And if you wake up in the next day and you feel like you want to throw in the towel, it's okay. Again, just one foot in front of the other. One foot in front of the other. I know that it's a part of the process, right? Because when you zoom out and you look at the bigger picture, you see that the trend is still going up. You see that you're still getting back to it. Progress doesn't mean perfection. It means that you are continuously trying to learn. You're continuously trying to improve over time. So don't get discouraged by the bumps in the road. Embrace them as a part of the journey that every single step, no matter how small that step is, is in the right direction. And remember, it's not about being perfect. It's about showing up for yourself and doing the best that you can with what you have right now, right in this moment. So let me quickly recap those three points that I talked about in today's episode. Number one, it is totally normal to start over. It's absolutely normal to need a fresh start now and then. You genuinely cannot expect yourself to go, go, go without ever slowing down and taking a break. Remember that life happens. Number two, setbacks are part of the process. Even the most dedicated fitness enthusiast, Olympic athletes, they have setbacks. Whether that's a few days, a few weeks, a few years. It is a part of the process. And just remember that no one is perfect and you are not alone. And last but not least, remember that fitness journeys are not linear. But when you zoom out and you look at the bigger picture, you'll see that likely the trend is still going up. And so if that's the case, be encouraged and just get back into it. If you love this episode, I know you'll also love Episode 272 How to Handle Life Getting in the Way of Your Fitness Goals. I will go ahead and link that in the show notes that you can easily go check that out. But lastly, I want you to remember this, that starting over in your fitness journey does not have to be scary. It doesn't have to be discouraging. You've got to take it one step at a time and keep celebrating every small win. And before you know it, you'll be well on your way to achieving those goals and feeling amazing back to where you were or even past to be where, right? And creating a new lifestyle and developing those sustainable habits. So that is all that I have. For today's bonus episode, be sure to tune in for part two of this two part series next week. And I love you so dang much. I am rooting for you and I believe that this fall you can and you will get back on track and you will see through the goals that you have set before you love you.
