[00:00:31] Hello and welcome back to another bonus episode on the Embracer podcast. In a world where appearance oftentimes feels like it defines our worth, which is a complete understatement, I think it's easy to struggle with body image. However, personally, I have found that the Bible offers powerful reminders of our true identity, our true value. And so that's why in today's bonus episode, I want to share kind of a few Bible verses that will help remind you of your true innate beauty within you that God created. So whether you believe in God or not, I hope that this provides some perspectives on how you can view your body. And so in this two part series, be sure to stay tuned for part two to hear all four verses. In part one, I'm going to be sharing two verses, and then in part two I'll be sharing the remaining two. And this is just, you know, four of so many verses that are in the Bible that talk about body image, but it is so, so important. And so that is exactly what I want to talk about in today's episode. But before we do, I want to share this review. It comes from Naomi L Thompson. She gave a five star review and said, the best. This podcast is amazing. I've just begun to take my fitness more seriously and all the episodes have been so helpful. I look forward to all the new episodes and learning more about health and caring for my body. I love this so much! Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to send in this review and just tune into the podcast. It really does help us out so, so much and also helps out other people who stumble upon the podcast, whether they hear about it from, you know, a friend, a coworker, or just stumble upon it on the Apple podcast player, they, you know, sometimes people will just stumble upon it, and then they typically like to read the reviews to see if it's worth their time. And so thank you so much for taking time out of your day to do that. Okay. So let's dive into the first two verses that can provide comfort and perspective when we find ourselves struggling with kind of how we see our bodies. Number one, Psalm one 3913 through 14 for you formed by inward parts. You knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works. My soul knows it very well. And this just means that God created your body. He knit you together in your mother's womb. And because of this, it is so important for you to appreciate the intricacy in which God has created you, every single part of you, from your physical features to your innermost being. You were created with purpose at your core, and it was all lovingly crafted by him. This verse invites us and reminds us to embrace gratitude for our bodies, recognizing that our body is the result of God's divine artistry. Like, literally, we are his artwork. We are his masterpiece. And so when you feel discouraged about your appearance, remember that you are a masterpiece of God's creation. You are designed with purpose, you are designed with care, and each thing that you perceive as a flaw has been carefully crafted by God to make you unique and beautiful. Here's kind of a few things that you can do daily to put this Bible verse into action, I want you to start a gratitude journal where you are listing things that you appreciate about your body and about your body's abilities, right? Even if you repeat, repeat the same few things daily, expressing gratitude for your body that will change your perspective about your body and also speak positive truths of yourself. Like I am wonderfully made, I am fearfully made. I'm a unique creation of God. And remind yourself of those things every single time a negative thought comes into your mind that will help to change this perspective about your body. And number two, first Samuel 16 seven says, for the Lord sees not as man sees. Man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart. And here's kind of what this verse means to me, right? God's focus is on our hearts rather than our outward appearance. Let me repeat that again. God's focus is on our hearts rather than our outward appearance. So this perspective really encourages us to prioritize, right? Our inner character over our external looks like to prioritize our core values, our sense of humor, our intelligence, our imagination, our ideas, our thoughtfulness, our love, our uniqueness. Those are the things that make us who we are. It's a reminder that while society might emphasize physical beauty, God values the pure intention, the love within us. And that is what is most important. So by cultivating this kind of heart that seeks and sees and values what God is seeing far more than what society tells you to look at, it is going to be so much more fulfilling than striving for these societal standards of beauty. So how do we put this, this verse into practice? Well, I want you to engage in activities that really nurture your inner. Herself, such as prayer, reading the Bible, acts of kindness, self-development. Like really, really try to focus on going inward. Try to focus on your spiritual. Try to focus on your mindset. Try to focus on what your heart and and focus on those things. Because at the end of the day, like it's easy to focus externally on refining your diet, your workouts, improving yourself. And yes, having a healthy body is part of elevating your personal development. Remember that it isn't the whole picture. Make sure that you are nourishing your soul, your heart, your mind in other ways. So let me quickly recap those two verses that I talked about today. Number one, Psalm 139 1314 for you formed my inward parts. You knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works. My soul knows it very well. And number two first Samuel 16 seven for the Lord sees not as the man sees. Man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. Be sure to stay tuned for part two. I hope that you love this episode. If you love this episode, I also know that you will love episode 106. Ask me anything about my spiritual journey part one. So really go in depth there and just kind of share, you know, more on how I came to know God and just kind of my journey. So if that is something of interest to you, I will go ahead and link that in the show notes that you can easily go tune into that, but that is all that I have. For today's episode. Be sure to tune in to part two as I'll share two other verses. If you are struggling with body image that I really think will help you, and I'll also share, just like I did today, kind of how to put them into practice. I love you so much. I mean it and I'll talk to you next time. [00:07:07]
