All right. So let's dive into the three important questions that you need to ask yourself. Number one, are you doing the things that you love? I think so many of us live our lives day in and day out, and we never do the things that we actually love doing. We have a long list of things we say we want to do, but we never actually do them. I don't know about you, but every single month I always say, how is it already a new month? I literally, the other day said, how is it mid June already of 2021? I feel like I'm still stuck in 2019. I don't know about you, but 2020 was a blur and the fact that we are already halfway through 2021 is so crazy. I'm always so surprised at how fast time flies. Life is meant for us to live it. Life is more than just going to and from work. Life is more than carpooling. Life is more than just trying to lose weight. Life is more than just trying to make other people happy. And life is more than saying, I'll do it tomorrow or I'll do it next month or I'll do it next year. I think we forgotten that our life is our life. And with that, we should be doing the things that we actually love.

Josh and I actually just got back from a trip. We went up to Buena Vista, which for those of you who don't know, we live in Colorado, which is hands down one of the most beautiful states. And I'm always reminded of that, especially in the summertime, I love it in the winter. I'm not a huge snowboarder, but I am getting better after my accident about a decade ago, I got on a snowboard for the first time last year. And then I went again early this year, but in the summertime, there is something about the Rocky Mountains that is just breathtaking. I am so, so grateful for the place that I live and I never ever, ever take it for granted simply because I am biased, I know, but it truly is one of the most magical places on the face of the planet. And the fact that I get to call it home is incredible. But we actually got to go razoring through Buena Vista, kind of the back mountain side of Buena Vista. And oh my goodness, it was beautiful. We got up to 10,000 feet and it was so stinking amazing.

And it just reminded me like, man, we plan this trip a few months ago and I've been looking forward to it. And it just reminded me, like I have to do stuff that really makes my soul happy every week. It doesn't have to be this trip that we planned months and months in advance. But it reminded me that being in nature and being with those who I love and making memories and having experiences. We got to go with my stepdad and my mom and those memories, those you're irreplaceable. That's what life is truly about. And then afterwards, we got to go hiking in Breckenridge and we stayed overnight and we just had the best time. And it just reminds me like, yes, I am an advocate for working hard and reaching your goals and having an amazing routine that makes you thrive.

But I am also a huge advocate for going out and adventuring and making experiences and doing the thing, even when it might be inconvenient, or even when you might think like, man, that's going to mess up my routine. I can tell you that when you are around people that you love doing things that make your soul happy, it actually makes you a better person. It makes you a better person at your job in the various different roles that you play because you are allowing yourself to thrive in a new environment. So just remember that, I have to remind you to constantly check in with yourself and ask yourself, are you truly doing the things that you love regularly?

Number two, do you actually not have time or are you prioritizing the wrong things so that you don't have time for what you should be prioritizing? Oftentimes when we say I don't have time, it really means I'm choosing my time to prioritize something else. Let that sink in. You need to switch your thought process from, I don't have time to where can I make time? Because at the end of the day your issue is not about not having time. It's about not using that time wisely. So I have to remind you to write out a list. So I want to encourage you to write out a list of what you do on a typical day, and then ask yourself what on this list isn't actually a priority for you. What can you start saying no to? Can someone else do something for you? What doesn't have to be done right now and does anything on your list showcase someone not respecting your time? I need you to start delegating, start outsourcing, start asking for help or start saying no and setting boundaries. When you do, you will actually realize that you do have time.

And number three, ask yourself, how are you doing? How are you really doing? When was the last time you asked yourself that question, wait, have you ever asked yourself that question? It's so important for us to check in on ourselves as much as we check in on the ones that we love. Are you feeling energized or are you feeling overwhelmed and stressed? Are your habits fueling you or are they depleting you? Are you truly happy? We need to stop normalizing feeling tired, feeling burnt out and feeling, run down. What we need to do is start normalizing actually feeling good. And it all begins with us asking ourselves how we are really doing. And being honest with that question. When we ask ourselves that, remember at the end of the day, you are going to show up as your best self if you first prioritize yourself and your emotions and you are self aware enough to know what is stressing you out or what's truly making you happy, what is depleting your energy or what is fueling your fire.

Okay. So I'm going to recap those three questions. I highly suggest that you jot them down in your notes section of your phone so you can come back to these questions daily or at minimum weekly. Number one, are you doing the things that you love? Try to do one thing out of the ordinary every week. I know that that sounds like a stretch. It can even be a small thing, but really be intentional about that. Number two, do you actually have time or are you prioritizing the wrong things so that you don't have time for what you actually should be prioritizing? And number three, ask yourself, how are you doing? Like really, how are you doing?
